Aging in Place Program
ASSIST helps homeowners adapt their homes to support safe, independent living as mobility and physical needs change with age or other circumstances. These projects focus on preventative safety improvements that reduce the risk of injury and make daily living more accessible and comfortable.
Households Served and Total Jobs reflects the last 5 years.
Common recommendations include modifications to stairways, bathrooms, entries, and other areas where falls or accessibility challenges may occur. ASSIST can provide a no-cost home assessment to identify potential safety concerns and recommend practical modifications that help residents remain in their homes longer and more safely. Recommended safety modifications may also be completed at no cost to qualifying homeowners through ASSIST programs and partnerships.
Grab bars, walk-in or curb shower conversions, raised toilet seats, non-slip flooring, and accessible layouts that reduce fall risk.
Handrail installation, vertical platform lifts, exterior ramps, and threshold modifications that make entering and moving through the home safer and easier.
Widening doorways for wheelchair or walker access, lever-style door handles, relocating laundry rooms and in some cases, kitchen modifications.
Our accessibility services are available to seniors and individuals with disabilities who own their homes and meet income eligibility requirements. Call our office at 801-355-7058 during normal business hours for an inquiry.
